I have been sadly lacking in the area of writing posts on here i hope you will forgive me. I have been reading A Chance to die by Elizabeth Elliot about the life of Amy Carmichael. A Great and challenging read.

In the books it is told of some of the children Amy took care of when they became older decided to form a sisterhood to honor God and help those in need. They list their guidelines in the book and I was very touched some of the women remained even after they married.

My Vow

- Whatsoever thou sayest unto me, by thy grace i will do it.

My Constraint

- Thy love ,O Christ my Lord.

My Confidence

-Thou art able to keep that which i have committed unto thee.

My Joy

- To do thy will O God.

My Discipline

-That which I would not choose, but which thy love appoints.

My Prayer

- Conform my will to thine.

My Motto

- Love to live, live to love.

My Portion

- The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance.

Teach us O Lord to serve thee as thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not heed the wounds ; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward save that of knowing that we do thy will, O Lord our God.

May we seek to follow Jesus and may these words speak to us and may we spend our all serving God as these women sought to do many years ago.
